Description
A cider apple that at one time was unsurpassed. In its day it was often preferred to imported wines and poetry and song were often enlisted in its praises. It arose from a pip collected and grown by Charles I’s Ambassador to France, Lord Scudamore. It is quite special, firstly for a high specific gravity and therefore high alcoholic content (11%) and secondly for its pretty pink coloured juice, making a fine ‘Cyder’ in all respects.
